What is henna?
Henna is a plant that grows in the middle east. The
leaves are picked and ground up into a powder.
Lemon juice, sugar, and a small amount of essential
oil is added to the mix and in 2 days......yippee.....its
time to play.
Does henna hurt?
No Not at all. Henna stains the uppermost layers of
the skin. It is not evasive.
How long does the design last?
Since everyones' skin is a little different, it is
sometime hard to estimate. It also depends on
other factors such as, where the design is located
on the body, how long the paste is left on, how thick
the lines are in the design. Mostly, the design will
last 7-10 days.
Can I make up my own design?
Of course, if you can draw it I can apply it.
What colors does henna come in?
Henna naturally can be anywhere from a brick red
(depending on where it is grown) to a chocolate
brown. Henna does not come in blue, purple or
BLACK. Black henna is very dangerous and
can be life threatening. For info see the nice folks
at www.hennapage.com.
HENNA IS NEVER BLACK!!!
HOW LONG DOES IT NEED TO BE
ON THE SKIN?
Leave the paste on for 6-8 hours if possible. The
paste will dry and harden quickly, but the longer
you can leave it on the darker it will be and the
longer it will last. The design will be orange the
first day and continue to darken for the first 2 days.
